In true Hollywood fashion, Sharon Eisenberg is looking to reprise her role as Chair of LA SIGGRAPH, and has loved being part of the supporting cast (Executive Council) for over 5 years. Often, when she mentions her involvement with LA SIGGRAPH, she is greeted with "Oh I love those conventions." It's because of this she will make increasing identity of the Los Angeles Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH a priority through supporting the diversity of specialties the field of computer graphics encompasses. Recently, she produced an event on Automotive Design & Visualization, held at the Petersen Automotive Museum, which branched out to a community previously overlooked. She also will work with the Membership Chair and Executive Council in developing sustainable membership drives, as well as increased recognition and appreciation.
She previously served as Vice-Chair and Secretary. Chapter events she produced include the Visual Effects of Sin City, and co-produced 300, Chicken Little, and Over The Hedge. The relationships she established with new sponsors, as well as those procured while Chair, has resulted in thousands of sponsorship dollars for LA SIGGRAPH. Ms. Eisenberg's accomplishments during her tenure on the board of the San Francisco ACM SIGGRAPH Professional Chapter, included organizing a presentation of creative work at the 2003 Game Developer's Conference in San Jose, and initiating the first-ever chapter sponsored screening of school reels and professional projects.
Upon graduating with a BFA from the Academy of Art in San Francisco, she freelanced on feature film, broadcast, sport graphics, and print projects. While obtaining her first degree from California State University, Northridge in Communications, she served as volunteer Director of Coffeehouse Showcases for two years, which she rebranded "Acousticafe" drawing increased campus-wide recognition. She also served as Director of Entertainment Programming for CSUN annual arts and crafts fair "SUNFEST", coordinating all publicity efforts, logistics, and worked with the Chair of the Video Art Program to organize one of the first public screenings of student video graphic work.
As a long time member of ASIFA, ACM, and ACM SIGGRAPH, Ms. Eisenberg has extensive exposure to the structure of affinity organizations. In addition, her services for the San Francisco SPCA, Angel City Derby Girls, and myPeopleConnection have broadened her perspective and enhanced her leadership skills. With these well rounded qualifications, Sharon Eisenberg looks forward to building teams and supporting the diversity of specialties that the field of computer graphics encompasses in serving as Chair of the Los Angeles Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH.
