Artist/Art Director

Alison Yerxa began working in film effects in 1979, painting and animating the cloud surrounding “V’Ger” on “Star Trek the Motion Picture,” supervised by Doug Trumbull.  In 1981, she worked again with Trumbull, as visual effects supervisor for “Brainstorm.”

In 1983, she designed the set for the production of “The Gospel at Colonus,” a musical theater piece by Lee Breuer and Bob Telson, which toured the world intermittently for 30 years.

She returned to film effects in 1993, settling in at VIFX and then Rhythm and Hues, where she served as a matte painter and art director on many movies, television shows, and commercials for 20 years.

Her favorite movie project was Life of PI.
