Biography for David Goodsell
Larger Than Life 1985, co-creator

The Larger Than Life 1985 digital animation, incorporating early motion-capture techniques and other innovative computer graphics animations, was a project by then UCLA art student Dave Curlender, with the help of UCLA medical student David Goodsell, using the university's molecular biology supercomputer.

This finished project premiered to the public at On the Threshold, and was one of a number of early computer art works screened at EZTV, first as a work in progress, and then numerous times over the years. With inclusion in the opening of the Getty's Pacific Standard Time at the Getty.
