"Battlestar Galactica – Then and Now"

Tue, 11/10/2009

A panel discussion on the Special and Visual Effects of Battlestar Galactica. Moderators: Gene Kozicki & Dan Curry.

Description

In 1978, the original "Battlestar Galactica" premiered and introduced new technologies and techniques to the world of television visual effects. In 2005, a new envisioning of the series was created and, once again, the visual effects were pioneering. The decades between the two series saw revolutionary changes in the art and technology of visual effects. But sometimes, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Join us as we look deeper into the visual effects work of both of these landmark series. Panelists will include multi award-winning industry luminaries John Dykstra, Richard Edlund, and Peter Anderson from the original series; with Pierre Drolet, Derek Ledbetter and Kyle Toucher from the new series. Highlights will include clips, photos, and even some home movies!
