Statement
Dahlia has an MFA in Studio Arts from the University of California at Irvine. She served as a TA for Rachael Rosenthal of the performance arts community. She has been an inveterate watcher of the analog and then digital visual arts community since 1977 when she discovered them in Chicago. She enrolled at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the shadow of Phil Morton. She participated in the community in Chicago which included John Manning, Dan Sandin and Tom DeFanti. After coming to Irvine, Dahlia became a member of the local Los Angeles SIGGRAPH Chapter. She first attended a national SIGGRAPH in 1986 at a time when Tron and zaggies were the hot topics.
Dahlia has been attending the LA-SIGGRAPH Executive Council meetings for the last year and a half. During that time she has witnessed the high level of commitment and responsibility of the council and would like to contribute further. She is willing to become more actively involved and serve as secretary for Los Angeles ACM SIGGRAPH. Her goal is to keep watching and writing things down.
